This is a song composed by a nun of Daughters of Charity. We used to sing this when we were seniors in High School.
I.
Faces, traces, before I grow too wise let me see You in their eyes
to care for poor men, rich men
I see their private pain, it’s hidden in their faces
I don’t understand why I have to go like this
I am most comfortable w/ the world just for me
REFRAIN I.
Until I see You, touch You, You hold me in Your arms
To see them, You teach me & show me
I never can deny that you have healed my inner most pain within
And turned my sorrow as strength to lift the weak
II.
Faces,traces, I saw it Vincent’s way
He went out of his way, to care for poor men, rich men
I saw their private pains
They’re living with no sense of meaning
Louise has seen the same star that Vincent dreamed for us
A star that shines to faces & freed them from the dark
REFRAIN II.
Jesus I see You & hold You when I hold a poor man’s hand & shared my
talents & feed them I never loose my life for when I give,
I truly share Your love & life
For this is all the meaning of our life (repeat ref. I & II)
CODA: For when I love,I truly live my life.
